A challenging journey, from supporting to successfully signing the contract for nearly a month was the story of VIETGO and Phu Binh Trading Development Investment Joint Stock Company with the Canadian customer, Ms. Winnie.
The predestined relationship between VIETGO and Phu Binh Commercial Development Investment Joint Stock Company started on April 9, 2020, when the company registered two service packages of VIETGO: Export Opportunities and 3-month Sample Consulting package. The first impression of Mr. Truong - representative of Phu Binh Investment and Trade Development Joint Stock Company, was a gentle, honest, sincere, and hardworking person. He shared that this was his first time working in this field. He has a factory, and he has experience and skills. The current items of his workshop are mainly clothes. Due to the epidemic situation, he has cooperated with some other manufacturers to make masks, mainly for sale in the domestic market. He wants his products to reach the international market, creating more jobs and income for the factory workers. He came to VIETGO with the desire to connect him with foreign customers to promote exports, but perhaps fate and luck did not come to him in the early stages. For nearly two months, Mr. Truong had not been able to export any masks, despite the frequent and regular interaction with customers. He was worried since he used the VIETGO service and a support consultant, but he still had not exported any shipments while other suppliers in the system still exported a lot. Thus, what was the problem?
1. The product image quality is sufficient but not vivid, not captivating, not displaying all the outstanding features of the products.
Usually, suppliers often invite customers to the factory to check the quality of products directly or, at least, try to convince customers to receive product samples when doing business. However, when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, each country, with its social distancing laws, suspending air services and business activities, caused great difficulties for suppliers. However, masks are popular and essential items in every country. Now, even America and Europe, those without mask-wearing cultures and even discriminating against mask-wearing individuals, are ready to order and pay online. And, as an online business, vivid photos, authentic videos, and instant information are the key to successful sales and order finalization.
2. Late quotation time, sometimes mistakenly quoted to customers, leading to re-quoting, making customers not feel the professionalism and credibility in the way the company works.
3. The quoted price is high for the product. When the customer gives the target price, the supplier changes the price. It is typical of Vietnamese enterprises and some Southeast Asian countries when it comes to business. However, it is not usual and unfamiliar to foreign businesses, especially those in Europe and America. This creates chances for the customers to coerce prices and question the quality of future products when signing contracts. It all comes down to a term of trust in business cooperation.

These are all reasons that VIETGO and Mr. Truong have discovered in the process, working and supporting cooperation between the two sides. VIETGO and Mr. Truong also had a couple of times to sit together to listen, share, analyze and find solutions to become successful as soon as possible. After VIETGO's consultation, Mr. Truong adjusted and overcame the existing shortcomings. Proof: professional photos, diverse, sharper, and realistic content, a quotation list of professional products created for consulting and archiving. Practice makes perfect, with efforts, adjustments, and the advice of VIETGO, Mr. Truong finally yielded sweet fruit. Mr. Truong has successfully signed an export contract with a visitor from Canada, Ms. Winnie, in June 2020. Although the initial quantity of trial imports was small (mainly for customers to test the quality and taste of customers), it created motivation and joy to help Mr. Truong try harder and try harder in the upcoming orders. The customer also promised to continue to import products of Mr. Truong's company when these imported goods are sold out.
